Frequently Asked Questions

Must I be completely undressed?
Most bodywork is performed with the client completely disrobed, but you should disrobe to your comfort level. Keep in mind that you will be draped at all times during the session. The part of the body that is exposed is the area the therapist is working on.

Will the therapist be in the room when I disrobe?
No. The therapist will leave the room after the assessment and they will knock on the door before re-entering the room.

What parts of the body are massaged?
In a full body massage the back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. If any of these areas are sensitive, please let your therapist know.

What should I do during the massage?
Make yourself comfortable. The therapist will gently move you (lifting your arm) or tell you what is needed. You are always welcome to ask questions.

Can I have a massage if I am not feeling well?
If you are running a temperature you should reschedule your massage as this could make you feel worse. A minor cold is ok.

How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your goals and your budget. It is suggested every 4-6 weeks.

How will the treatment affect my skin?
We use all natural crèmes and essential oils. Please let your therapist know if you have any allergies or are prone to break outs from the oils. We can accommodate this.

How does the massage affect my body when I return home?
As the massage relaxes the mind and body you may feel a little light headed or in a very relaxed state of being. Take your time getting up from the table. The meditation room is open to you after your massage. Drink water!!! A bottle of water will be provided to you after your massage. Go home and enjoy.

Will I be sore after my massage?
Possibly. Please inform the therapist if the amount of pressure is too much. We do not believe in the “no pain, no gain” theory. Your massage may come to the edge of discomfort, but it should NOT be painful.

What if I have an erection during the massage?
Some men avoid receiving a massage because of this fear. This isn’t common, but it could happen. There is no reason to be embarrassed. This is a normal reaction of the parasympathetic system. Your therapist will ignore it and continue to work. This is the time for mutual respect.

If you have any other questions, please ask! Our therapists are professionals and only want you to feel at ease about your experience.
